Based on 6/72 Symmetrical Astrology, each ascendant sign in the zodiac possesses within them all of the four elements of earth, water, air and fire. How these energies manifest in the native – both in their natal chart and during planetary transits – will be the same.

The corresponding elements are represented for each ascendant by the modalities they’re paired with – whether it’s cardinal, fixeds or mutable. How does this work in principle?

Take Aries, for example. The air element of Aries ascendants is Libra (its fellow cardinal sign), so when Aries natives transit Libra from ages (36 – 42), the air energy that manifests is that of Libra. Converseley, when Aries transits Capricorn from (54 – 60), the earth energy that manifests is that of cardinal sign Capricorn, and the water energy is that of cardinal Cancer (ages 18 – 24).

This model also applies to transiting planets aspecting the natal planets of the natives. for example, airy planets like Mercury moving through Aries will affect Aries ascendants, which will make the Aries personality being overpowered Airy energy. In an Aries natives case, the Air energy that manifests will be that of a Libra personality, in the case of Taurus ascendants, an Airy Gemini personality will manifest, for Leo ascendants, it will be that of an Aquarian Airy personality.
