Ge’ez/Tigrinya translation of Atrahasis – Tablet 1 – Part 3

One thing you have to ask yourself is how does Ge’ez/Tigrinya translation give an accurate historical and contextual etymology which makes much more sense than the manistream translations. I will leave you to your own judgement.

Atra Ahasis – it is time to investigate – እተራ አሐሲስ

Atra hesus – It is the time for the inferiors – እተራ ሕጹጽ

Atra hase – It is time to make things right – እተራ ሀሴ

Ahasis – አሐሲስ – inquire, demand, scrutnize, investigate.

Hesa/Hayasa – ሔሰ\ሐየሰ – be better, be suitable, make things better.

Atra/Etera -እተራ – the turn of something. a time for something.

Hesus – ሕጹጽ – less, minor, insufficient, inferior, diminished.

Atrahasis – Tablet 1 – line 1 – 7 then continues from Line 57 – 84 (Note – some of the tablets were damaged)

65 – Then he forgave them – ማሐረ ሸዑ ንሳቶም

66 – The people who complained of suffering the things he did to them at that time, – ሰብ ስቃይ ሽዑ ነድገረ

67 – with their shoulders, – እተከሱ

68 – He grasped them and sent them – እታሐዞንም እላአኾንም

69 – every moment one will enter to get whipped by Enlil, – በብ ሳዐ አተ መኒ ቀርዐዲ ኤንሊል

70 – Just like the tens who came to fight, – መስል ለዐሰራቲ መጺኦም እባአሱ

71 – to burn his house, unless he keeps off his hands, – በየቱ ለወዕይ, ዴኤንሊል እየዐል ኢድ

72 – Just like the tens who came to fight, – መስል ለዐሰራቲ መጺኦም እባአሱ

73 – to burn ekur, unless he keeps off his hands, – እቃር ብውዕይ, ዴኤንሊል እየዐል ኢድ

74 – he understood what was happening when he looked at that time, – እቲ ዖቂ ደቅልቀል እት ሽዑ

75 – The house was blazing with fire, at once [ XX ]- እል ብዩት እስቋረ, እሒት

76 – when Nusku’s servants (chief visior of Enlil) looked through the window, – ደቅልቀል እደቂ ንስኪ

77 – The curses that they heard at that time,[……] – እርግማ እሰምዑ እሽዑ

78 – Nusku told his servants then, – ደንስኩ እደቂ በል እሽዑ

79 – where is the water, the fire is geeting worse – አይነ ምይ ልእሳት እቢኢሱ

80 – He said your house is burning, – በለ ለዋዒየ ቤትካ

81 – And when they met, he saw it, he teared up and weeped, – ቀበሎም እርእዩ ሻዐ እነባዕ በካ

82 – Enlil, your house is burning, – ዴኤንሊል ለዋዒየ ቤትካ

83 – 81 – And when they met, he saw it, he teared up and weeped, – ቀበሎም እርእዩ ሻዐ እነባዕ በካ

84 – Does Enlil XXXXXXX get defeated because the the people rose up. – ዴኤንሊል ይሳዐር ድዩ እነ ሰብ ተሲኡ.
