Ge’ez – Tigrinya translation of the Sumerian King List (SKL) – Part 10


One thing you have to ask yourself is how does Ge’ez/Tigrinya translation give an accurate historical and contextual etymology which makes much more sense than the manistream translations. I will leave you to your own judgement.


The 2nd dynasty of Kish

Dadasig – ዳደሲግ – (reigned for 81 years)

Sega – ስጋ – flesh, body, meat, corpse, related of the same family (like a brother, sister, uncle, aunt, etc).

ded – ድድ – put into, join togehter, insert.

Tsega – ጸጋ – bestow favours, show grace, offer a gracious gift, grant.

‘ud – ዕድ – people, men, male.

dum – ደም – blood.

segeu’ – ስግው – incarnated.

sege – ጽጌ – flower, blossom.

segg’ – ጽጕ -public square, outdoors, market place, street.

D’udasigau’ – ድዕድ እሰገው – The man who incarnated.

D’udasiga – ድዐድ እስጋ – his body to the people.

The contextual and symbolic etymology refers to Dadasig was believed to be an incarnate of the Annuna Gods. It could also tell us that he sacrificed his life for his people.

There is no mainstream translation or link except the length of his reign.


Mamagal – መመጋል – (reigned for 360 years)

mama’e – ምማዔ – terrified, fear, terror, anxiety.

Gal – ጋል – girl, female.

age – ዐጌ – flax, linen, cloth, royal cloth.

agl – ዐግል – enclosure, layer, row.

Egal – እጕል – progeny, offspring.

Mama’egal – ምማዔ እጕል – The terrifying offspring.

Mama’agal – ምማዔ አጋል – The one who terrified the females.

The contextual and symbolic etymology tells us that he was a cruel King as his subjects were terrified of him based on the translation.

mainstream translation – the boatman – reigned for 360 years.


Kalbum – ከልበም – (reigned for 195 years)

lebb – ልብ – intelect, understanding, heart, mind, consciousness.

liba – ሊባ – south, south west.

Kal’a -ከለአ – forbid, prohibit, prevent, hold back, deprive.

Kal’a -ከለአ – make another, change, two fold, both.

Kal – ክል – everything, total, every.

Kalb – ከልብ – dog.

Kalbum – ከልቦም – their dog.

Ka’lebbum – ከልቦም – without maturing/ without understanding.

K’lebbum – ክልብም – so he could be wise.

The contextual and symbolic etymology tells us that he was young when he took over the Kingship from his father. It could also mean that he was a vassel of another city which the scriber made sure to call him, “their dog”.

mainstream translation – the son mamagal – reigned for 360 years.


Tuge – ቱጌ/ጥጌ – (reigned for 360 years)

tag’a – ጠግዐ – adhere to, cling to.

tagha – ተግሀ – be vigilant, keep vigil, be wakeful.

Taghe – ትጋሄ – The wakeful one.

The contextual and symbolic etymology tells us that he could be a diligent King. It could also tell us that he was relgious. as the only thing we have is a single name, there is nothing much to decipher.

There is no mainstream translation or link except the length of his reign.
